Specialized care for a sensitive time
My name is Dr. Celeste Poe and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family therapist who has been in the mental health field for over a decade. I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University and completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship training at the Yale Child Study Center.
As a multigenerational psychologist with specialized training in working with infants and young children as well as parents and couples, my work is centered around supporting families of young children, particularly during circumstances of trauma, grief, and bereavement. I specialize in supporting families during the perinatal period, before and after birth covering issues including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, and difficulties with attachment.
In addition to practicing evidence-informed therapy including CBT, TF-CBT, EFT, and mindfulness-based approaches, I have specialized training in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), Child Parent Psychotherapy, Circle of Security, perinatal loss, and I am a Gottman trained Bringing Baby Home Educator. I also work as a perinatal and pediatric psychologist at Stanford Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, supporting expectant and postpartum families as well as families of medically complex infants and young children facing intensive care in the NICU and throughout the hospital.
My approach has been described as warm and down-to-earth. I take a multicultural approach to every aspect of this work and welcome families of all backgrounds. I believe that every parent has unique strengths and support parents in staying rooted in their values. I co-create a space in which parents can better identify and confront unhelpful patterns of relating to themselves and others, while feeling empowered to guide their family's life in the direction they desire.
